Our Tips:
Make sure you write out a list of different poses and people combinations that you want your photographer to capture. Although your photographer will likely get all of the important images you never can be sure. Making sure your photographer is getting all of the images you want is the last thing you need to worry about on your big day.
Discuss the planned schedule with your photographer ahead of time. Will you be taking formal posed photographs after the ceremony? Will the bride and groom see eachother before the ceremony? Be sure your photographer knows your plans so they can accomidate.
If you are interested in Videography as well, you may want to look for a photographer that offers this in one of their packages. The photographers that have videography included will probably charge less than finding both seperately. This could save you time and money.
Another way to save money is to find a photographer that offers you all of your images on CD or DVD at full quality. This will allow you to print your own photos at a place of your choice as well as a price that you see reasonable. This way you skip out on paying the photographers high print price.
Most importantly, make sure your photographer is friendly, easy to work with, someone you trust, and of course that you enjoy their photographs.
Take your time when picking out a photographer. If a photographer tries to rush you into booking, then they have something to hide.
Give yourself plenty of time to look over photographers. But keep in mind, photographers often do book their calender fast.
Ask to see one wedding not just the greatest hits. This way you'll have some idea how they will approach your wedding and what results you can expect.
