Flowers & Florists
Questions to Ask:
  • How many years have you been in business servicing weddings?
  • What is your payment policy?
  • What is your cancellation policy?
  • Will you come to my wedding venue(s) and tell me what flowers would look best?
  • Can you get out of season flowers?
  • Can you preserve my bouquet?
  • Do you charge a delivery and set up fee? if so, what is it?

Our Tips:
To keep costs down, try to choose flowers that are in season. Once a flower is out of season it becomes harder to find, resulting in more expense.

If you plan to decorate church pews with flowers, a good way to save money is to only decorate select pews. Only decorating every other pew or only the pews reserved for family are both good options. Another idea is to decorate all or some of the rows with Pew Bows.

Especially if you choose not to hire a florist, plan ahead on how to hang the flowers on pew ends. The easiest solution may be to buy pew clips

Instead of decorating seating rows with expensive flower arangements, consider filling Pew Cones with flower petals. These encourage your guests to shower you with flower petals as you are presented as a couple and walk down the isle together. (Great Photo Op)

Another good way to conserve money is to have your ceremony flowers double as reception flowers. Just be sure that a responsible person knows what is supposed to be moved from the wedding venue to the reception.

Ask your florist for thier recommendations. They can help you find flowers to match your colors and your budget.

Have a lot of single girls as guests? Consider a boquet that will break apart in mid-air. This allows more than one lucky girl to get a piece of the action. Be sure to tell your photographer ahead of time if you decide to use this type of boquet.
