Wedding Cakes

Questions to ask:
  • How long have you been making wedding cakes?
  • Is there a fee for taste testing your cakes?
  • Do you have any specialties?
  • How much is my cake going to be per serving?
  • Is there a rental fee for the cake plate and pillar? If so, is it refundable?
  • What is the delivery and set up fee?
  • What is your payment & cancellation policy?

Our Tips:
Depending on the size, style, and many other factors of your cake, the prices will differ. The average guesstimet for a cake from a professional bakery ranges between $2-12 per piece.

Want a cake that is so lifelike you don't think you should eat it and that serpasses all other cakes in assthetic value? We highly recommend you take a look at Mikes Amazing Cakes. Mike is not paying us to say this, he's not even a partner or friend, his cakes are so incredible that I am willing to endorse him with no incentive.

If you are not looking to break the bank on your cake just to see it devowered by your cake loving Uncle Brian. And, if the bakeries you've looked at are a little higher than you want to pay, remember that Safeway, Fred Meyers, Albertsons, Walmart and other supermarkets all sell wedding cakes.

Community Colleges
Check with your local community college. They need business to teach students how to make wedding cakes, so their prices are reasonable. Plus, the professors oversee the baking operations so you will get a good product.

Clark College Bakery (360-992-2220) in Vancouver does wedding cakes for the public. They charge $2.50 per serving with your choice of cake and filling and buttercream icing. The charge is $3.00 per serving for fondant icing. The customer is responsible for getting the cake topper (see options on right side of this page). They need at least 2 weeks notice for a wedding cake.
